TASK:
My task was to dive into the world of a brand, examining its history and past fashion shows, and then create a new one inspired by its iconic garments.
SOLUTION:
We delved into the rich history of YSL, paying homage to its legendary tuxedos, captivating tulle dresses, and sleek one-pieces. Drawing inspiration from their sleek catwalks and the interplay of light, we envisioned a setting evoking the romance of Parisian nights with the Eiffel Tower as a backdrop. Our project was a fusion of Morocco, a place close to YSL's heart, the theatrical world they adored, and the vibrant energy of city life, where fashion is a daily spectacle.
IN DEPTH:
The catwalk began with a Moroccan-inspired archway, serving as a dramatic entrance. Illuminated in electric blue reminiscent of the Tuileries gardens, it led to a sturdy, undulating runway akin to desert sand. Metal net columns dotted the path, echoing the allure of YSL's tulle and one-piece ensembles. Across from the entrance, a skyscraper-like mirror reflected the runway, adding a dreamlike quality to the show. As models strutted down the runway, romantic lights cast a colorful glow, while overhead, twinkling lights evoked the Moroccan night sky. The ambiance was immersive, transporting guests to a world of desert romance and Parisian allure.
